As much as you can! Learning the self defence system that is Krav Maga is like learning anything else, the more you practice, the better you get.

At Krav Maga Evolution, we offer classes five days a week. Some of our students train every day, even doing double or triple classes back to back! These students are smashing through the curriculum and are progressing at lightning speed.

The truth is though, how many of us can train at this kind of frequency? Some of us have full time jobs, kids, physical limitations and other commitments.

The first question you need to ask yourself is, how important is it for me to know how to defend myself and my family? If it ranks on your list of priorities (it should be somewhere at the top of your list), then you’ll find the time and make the effort to train.

I often hear the excuse “I’m not fit enough to train”, that’s like a kid saying that I’m not smart enough to start school. You’ll get fit by training!

The next excuse is “It’s too expensive”, No its not! You just choose to spend your money elsewhere. The price of ten café lattes purchased at your local cafe will pay for a weeks training. I’m not saying to give up your coffee, make your coffee at home before leaving for work. While at work, have instant coffee. If self-defence training is important to you, you’ll find ways to train.

If you want to see steady gains, three is the magic number (and if you can train more, great!). Some training is better than no training. So even if its once a week, stop making excuses and get on the mat!
